The analysis is performed by a \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSwedac-accredited laboratory\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e and includes the two microbiological parameters that form the basis for the assessment of bathing water: \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eE. coli\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e and \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eintestinal enterococci\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. These bacteria are indicators of pollution from sewage, animal husbandry, or stormwater and can, at elevated levels, cause \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003egastroenteritis\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eear infections\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, and other waterborne diseases.
